My weekend

This is not a big deal but I had a lot of fun doing it. I helped my mom put flower arrangments together for the Relief Society dinner and broadcast on Saturday. I really enjoy putting flowers together because, if I'm lucky, it turns into something beautiful. I love my kids dearly but it was fun being away from them for a day, spending time instead with my mom. I think we haven't spent time together like that, just the two of us, since I had my Chase. Here are some of the 24 we put together.We had such a great broadcast. I love hearing from our general leaders. I know they are inspired, speaking on behalf of our Heavenly Father. I learned a lot and heard things I needed to hear to make me a better member, mother, and wife.

This weekend I also had a fun visit with friends. Today, after church my friend Ashley had us over for dinner. Greg and I had a very good time visiting with her family. Thank you Ashley for your yummy dinner and for having us over;) Greg is still talking about how good it was. I need to let Chase watch Hook tomorrow. He really wanted to finish watching it there. On our way out to the car he also said "I see Tinckerbell" looking toward a star. He was copying Ashley's daughter who said it a little while before. It was probably the most girly thing that he's ever said. It was too funny.

Baby Leilani

I ran into these pictures today and I wanted to show Leilani off with Chase and Savannah and I thought these pictures were great. Leilani let Chase hold her. It was nice for her Daddy (Ryan) to let him hold her. Chase and Savannah love visiting with her. These pictures were taken this past Sunday. Leilani looked so cute in her Sunday dress and had the cutest sweater on. She is growing fast and is very sweet.
Savannah was soooooooooo excited that baby(Leilani) was sitting next to her. We couldn't get her to look at us to get her picture taken.

LA County Fair

This morning we went to the LA county fair with Erik, Marci, and the girls. It was great taking the kids to the outdoors. I was very funny seeing Savannah's reaction to the farm animals, she did really good. She liked pointing at them and she liked petting the goats with Chase.

Chase really liked getting his picture taken inside of these board paintings. I did too.
I love the Fair because it gives you an opportunity to get up close to farm animals. It was also awesome because thanks to Marci, parking and admission were free. Thanks for inviting us to join your family Marci.

A good website for kids

For the last couple of weeks Chase has been interested in learning to spell out his name and letters. I think he learned that from his cousins Kayla and Alysa. A couple of times he has seen them spell their names and all of the names of the people in my family. He tries really hard to spell his name but he can't quite get the S down--he calls it Savannah's letter.

Two of his favorite things to do here at home are: watching TV and playing games on the computer. His favorite thing to do on the computer is paint Easter eggs. Today, he wanted to play that game and I thought that it was time for something different. I remembered a couple of months ago my friend told me about a website for preschool students to learn there ABC's. We tried it out and he loved it. And he didn't want to get off. It is a really good website for young children. I was every impressed and I highly recommend it. It's: http://www.starfall.com/

Camping in San Diego

This weekend we went off for a camping trip with Dustin, Michelle, and their family. We camped at Mission bay, in San Diego. It was a lot of fun! But it wasn't fun trying to keep dirt off of the kids. Every time we changed their clothes they would fall down again in the dirt. I got so bad that I stopped letting Savannah even walk in the dirt. She got really excited when I finally put her down in the tent and let her use her own feet again. The kids loved the playground. I'd never seen anything like it before. It was big enough to literally keep them busy all day long and strong enough for big kids to play on it too. Here's Savy enoying it.

This was my first time camping with Greg and the kids. Chase liked sleeping in his sleeping bag. This was his second time camping. Our first day there we walked around the place and at night we cooked hot dogs and ate smores. The next day we went out to the bay and the kids (the big kids too) played in the water and sand. Chase was a little afraid to jump off of the diving platform, but he enjoyed swimming. Next, we headed to the pool which was very comfortable. The weather was nice because it stayed about 70 degrees day and night. So it was perfect!

We got dressed and tried to stay clean to go to Old Town San Diego. We made it there and had a good time. We ate at a fun Mexican restaurant. I had the best fish tacos ever--I was craving them all weekend so we had to get some. We all also ate tons of candy from the old Candy shop. We are not big sugar eaters so it is still affecting us.

On our third and final day, we went to La Jolla shores to hang out with one of Greg's friends. The beach is ideal for anyone wanting to learn to surf. The waves are long and not too big.

Thanks Michelle and Dustin for planning such a fun camping trip. We'll have to do it again very soon.

A day at the Lake

Yesterday, Nikki and Andy took our family wakeboarding at Lake Perris. What an adventure. It was very nice of them to let us have a fun day with them. They are really good, like pros. Greg and I are not! Here's a picture of Nikki on the wakeboard. I couldn't believe how high they could get on their jumps. Andy got high, but Nikki got even higher--you go chica! Here's Nikki surfing. This was a lot harder than her and Andy made it look. It was really tough. I couldn't get the surfing down. The kids enjoyed the boat ride and I was glad the kids kept their life jackets on the whole time. Both kids wanted to drive the boat. Chase was nice to let Savannah have a turn. I am also glad we are alive! Greg and I were able to stand up and move around a little but no high jumps for us. This morning my body hurts so bad that I didn't even want to get out of bed. Chase in the front of the boat, chilling and listening to music.Here I am trying not to eat it!Savannah looked funny in her life jacket while she was taking her nap.

Chase even got to ride on the surfboard for a few seconds. This wasn't my idea.

Too much Fun with the pancakes

Okay, now it's my turn. I'v been wanting to make the pancake letters that Kristin made for Kory. Well, today I tried making some and they didn't turn out the way her's and Jill's turned out. Mine were either too BIG or too small. Oh, and I didn't try to spell out Savannah's whole name. For short I spelled out SAVY.

It was a lot of fun but hard for me because I wanted them to look perfect and they didn't. It was all worth it though when Chase got a big smile on his face when he saw his pancake letters and gave me a big hug. Chase also took part in mixing the batter. It's fun when he helps me and exciting to know he's still my little chef. The whole time I was trying to make the letters perfect I couldn't stop laughing. This will be a great memory.

Feeding the ducks

For the last few days the kids have been inside the house because it's sooo hot outside. Yesterday, Greg and I decided the kids really needed to get out--they were starting to get grumpy. So we took them to Fairmount Park out in Riverside. Greg and I enjoy going there because Chase likes feeding the ducks. We've taken him there since he was a baby and we hadn't taken Savannah there (wait once we took her there as a baby). Savannah likes feeding ducks too but she likes feeding herself even more.She also likes runnung away from her mom and dad and pretending to fall into the lake. I think she likes scaring us. I am glad we went. The kids got all their energy out of them and fell to sleep very fast. Greg got a good run in too. Proud to be an american

The last few days Greg and I have been excited to watch the Republican convention. If you didn't know, Greg is really into political stuff. He started really getting into it when he was studying at Cal State, San Bernardino. And now he's got me into it too. I don't know much about it though.
When I was young my parents weren't into politics. So I never knew what party I believed in. Well now that I'm married to Greg (and have to watch the political conventions just to spend time with him) I know that I am a Republican. After watching and listening to McCain and Palin I decided that they have my vote. I got really emotional when they spoke about are country and how they love it and it helped me realize how blessed we are to live in a free country and how much I love it too. God has blessed us with a great country. I support John McCain and Sarah Palin. I have to write this blog because this is history--having the first Republican vice presidential candidate as a woman. After watching the convention, I feel like they are going to win this election. I think we'll all have to pray for them.

So this is the first election where I actually know who I am going to vote for before going into the poll. I also know that I'm going to vote yes on Prop 8 and I pray that it passes.

Labor Day Weekend!

We had a good time visiting my family and Greg's family on Labor Day and Sunday.

Sunday, we went to church for Leilani's blessing. It was especially fun because Micheal Land gave his missionary homecoming talk. So not only did we have our family there, but lots of old friends.

We went to Susy's house on Monday and come back home to celebrate Emma, Mia, and Marci's birthdays. I enjoyed watching the kids play together and to see how grown up all of them are. I thought about how Greg and I will be married for 5 years this October and how fast the family has grown. And I thought about how old the kids are going to be over the next 5 years. It is going to happen too fast. It's exciting to know how much more its going to grow. It's kind of sad too.

Savannah learned how to climb all the way to the top of the slide. That girl is dangerous!
