Today, Chase checked out some books from the library. He is going to start the library summer reading game. Every five books we read, he will get a prize. The reading game theme is "catch the reading bug!" The librarian will be reading bug-books and doing bug-crafts with the kids. Here's Chase's first bug project:

We hadn't gone to the library for a while. It was nice to see Chase enjoying himself. Savannah enjoyed it too. It was hard for me to keep her close to us because she would try to run off. She also wanted to play on the computer with Chase.
I have noticed that she wants to do everything Chase does. She's a funny girl.

This afternoon, Savannah had her 12 month doctors appointment. She weighs 21 pounds. Poor little Savannah! She had to get three immunization shots. But it was even more sad when she had to get her blood drawn because her iron was low. It was sad to see her bottom lip tremble while they put the needle in her. I explained to Chase that Savannah was going to get her shots today and asked him if he could help Savannah get through it. Well, he did. He held her hand and said, "it's okay Savannah." I was so proud of him.
We came back home and while Chase napped, I went for a walk and Savannah went for a ride in her new bike that my dad got for her birthday. She loves it. She enjoys being outside just like her big brother.

I want to thank everyone for coming and celebrating Savannah's first birthday with us. And thank you Tyler and Kyle for wishing Savanahh a happy birthday. We missed you Kristin, Monty, and the boys, but it was nice hearing from you. I attach a video so you can get an idea of how much Savannah enjoyed her first piece of birthday cake. I think she is now hooked!!

Savannah's lei stayed on longer than the flower in her hair. Chase, Emma, and Mia wore their leis for the whole party and they were also big helpers. Here's a picture of the girls (just missing Kristin.)
It was fun. Greg and I were the ushers.
It was a perfect day for Nancy.
It was exciting to get a picture taken with my sisters and brother.
