Thinking about our move coming up this December reminds me to spend lots of time with family now. I do have promises from Greg's family that they will come out and visit us. So I hope it does come true. We will try to come back home too but we don't have any idea when. My visit to La Salva was special because Chase, Savannah, and I spent most of our time with Diane. So we got to know her a lot better. It was fun spending time with her. She's a amazing person.
For two mornings, Mike made the kids and I a super breakfast. I also got to get to know him. That was special too. On Friday night, grandma Carole had a really good dinner for us. She's really a good hostess. I got to talk with aunt Diane's children, Greg's cousins, and their partners. It was just a fun night. Their grandson Woody played for hours with Chase and Savy without stopping. It was fun watching them laugh, play and jump. We walked down to the beach one day. Here's Savy in a stoller that Diane let us use when we walked up to Carole's house:
Chase and Savy played a lot in Carole's backyard. Chase said that it was "a forest." Diane brought down a tent, tables, and chairs for them to play in. They loved that. Chase learned how to climb up a tree out there in the forest. He was proud of himself. He even let me take his picture doing it:
Here is Chase watching a dvd inside mom's sun-shade-thing for the front window. Chase said it was his house inside there:
I love the weather in La Selva. We were in jeans, shoes, and sweaters. I loved being in a 60 to 70 dregree weather.
The kids are in love with it, and they are very excited. Chase goes out there and plays with it and the cat lets him pet it. I don't really like that, but there's no stopping Chase!
Chase named him buster.
I fell in love with how green this state is.
Here's a statue of Thomas Jefferson, the founder of the University of Virginia. It was cool shopping because it was a tax-free weekend . Greg got the kids some cool gifts from the Army store. Here's Chase in his new PT shirt.
He got Savy a cute bear dressed in a army uniform:
Chase a army t-shirt, camouflage shorts and undies.
Thanks Greg for a wonderful weekend.
Our trip up there was to be with grandma and to be part of Grandpa's funeral. This was Savy's first time meeting Grandma Peterson. They had a good time together:
Greg had permission to go to the funeral. Right when he was ready to get his boarding ticket the flight attendant said his fight was canceled. It was very disappointing Greg couldn't be part of grandpa's funeral. The kids loved feeding apples to a cow that was in the Peterson Grandparent's land.
Chase and I found this cool bird nest:
The kids spent a lot of time with the cow:
Chase really enjoyed picking apples too:
The funeral was perfect. I felt the spirit there and I felt good to know Grandpa is in a better place with our Heavenly Father. And he's with his loved ones.
