Green Belt

Chase will be hitting his one year of Tai Kwan Doe in Sepetember. He continues to enjoy it. He recently got promoted to green belt. He works hard learning all the moves. He's getting closer to black belt, but for this up coming year it's going to be more difficult. During testing to pass the instructor will not be talking the students through their forms and they have to know every move by themselves.

Here is Chase after sparring. He got really into it and did a cartwheel the other day, then popped up and started kicking. I laughed so hard. I think he wanted to show off to the girl (he was sparring with) who is really good.Chase sparring on testing day. Has been for 4 months now. In the beginning it scared him and he would back up, but now he's getting good at it:)Chase and I with his new belt:) I'm really proud of him. He's on his toes. He's getting better at keeping them down:) I don't think on our blog I've talked about Chase being on his toes all the time yet.

Eating Machine

Carl has a big appetite now:) It was really hard trying to stop nursing him. It took a whole month. There were lots of tears, and now he is officially done nursing. Here's Carl pigging out at 13 months. He loves corndogs:)Took him a good 30min to eat and didn't let it go until he finished:)Last night I felt sad that I have stopped:) But I have realized the older the kids are getting the more fun they get:) For example, Chase and Savvy made Greg and I a meal. Greg texted me this picture. To let Chase and Savvy know he loved his dinner they made him for work. He's been working a lot of hours and work and it made him happy to eat a meal they made him. The meal was: a peanut butter and honey sandwich, an ego waffle, a piece of american cheese, an apple, and an orange. Kids are sooo funny! Mommy got spoiled too. They gave me a pedicure. It was too sweet:)They also pampered me by putting lip gloss on me and doing my hair. Then they put lotion on my feet. How did they come up with this. It was NICE and Chase kept telling me "now relax mom." Oh how I love this KIDS:)
to mention are camera is broken. Pictures are now going to be from our cell phone. Greg and I have bad luck with cameras. are recent camera lasted for almost a good year:)

Tea Party with Papa

Savvy likes having tea parties with her dad:) Time to time, she asks Greg for a real tea party. She asked for one and he gave her a really fancy party with a yummy berry lemonade and a homemade pastry:) They made it all together. I was invited for the best part, eating it up:) Greg took her picture right before we dug in. Next time I need to get their picture together. The another day Savvy told me that she wanted a Disney princess makeover. She got the idea from the Disney Channel. Carl was napping and I jumped right into to making her over because at times she can be a little too Tomboyish. I painted her nails, did her hair, put on lip gloss, and body glitter. She must think she has to act like a boy because she lives with three boys:) But she sure looks like a girl! She wanted to look like princess Ariel!

Back to school

Chase went back to school on August 1st. He started the 1st grade. We made it on time, yay! Last year I really blew it on being late for the first day of school. So far he is enjoying first grade. He likes his class and teacher Mrs. Taira. He has a class project to do this week, and he is really excited about it. He still loves doing craft projects. Here's our big 1st grader on the 1st day back to school.

Last Minute Trip to Cali

July was such a blur of a month. It all happened so quick. My parent went back to California after visiting us for 3 weeks. I was so pathetic missing them so much. Greg told me that with all the crying I was doing I should just go to California for a few weeks so I wouldn't be so sad. I told him I would suck it up and be alright.

My parents had only been gone for about a week, when my mom gave me a call to tell me that her brother passed away. When we finished talking, I really wanted to be with my mom and family even more than before. Greg was so nice to buy me and the kids tickets back to California!

I was glad I made the trip. The kids and I got to be with our family for 3 weeks! And that was just what I needed. The kids had a blast with their cousins! They spent a lot of time in the water!

Carl at Jumping Jacks for my niece's 3rd birthday party. He loved jumping in the bouncer.

Chase, Savvy, and Carl loved Mammy's swing set. They can swing for hours. Slip and slide fun! I got them recorded sliding down the slide and landing on the slip and slide. It was so much fun watching them do it:) I took the kids to my childhood house and backyard neighborhood park. Carl learning how to walk on his own.My brother took Yesenia and I out for some Thai food. Our first time doing that as adults. It was a special dinner for me. Thanks uncle J!Chloe and Savvy in tiaras in the pool at Mammy's house at 7am in morning:)My mom with her nephews after the funeral. My brother and sisters in here too. Chase went to a Dodger game with his grandpa Peterson and uncles, Ryan, Dustin, and Andy. Grandpa spoiled him and he had a blast eating Cracker Jacks, a Dodger Dog, cotton Candy, soda, and licorice! He also watched the fireworks after the game and wasn't afraid. That's a first for Chase.

Savvy and I went to a Selina Gomez Concert with My sister Yesenia and Niece, Kayla. Savvy and I are big fans.Chase and Savvy made a build a Bear. They love there stuffed Animal. Chase picked a monkey and called him Buddy. and Savvy a bear that smells like strawberries. She named it strawberry.Chloe and Savvy playing at their photoshoot. Auntie Michelle was shooting their photos. They also had a really fun tea party. It was beautiful watching the girls have fun:) It seemed magical to me.

Carl is ONE

Our baby is now a one year old, doing all those things that a toddler is supposed to do. I have to mention that I LOVE his CURLY hair:) He is a happy boy! And Greg and I love his smile so much. His smiles are so contagious. It doesn't matter what mood you're in, when he smiles at you, you will smile back. His smile and personality have been such a blessing for our family! For his first birthday I wanted to do something special. We celebrated his birthday together with Savvy's at the Sea Life Park. It was a really beautiful tourist attraction. The big blue beautiful Pacific Ocean is right in front of the park which is located on a hill, so while walking through the park, you're either looking at the sea life in the park, at the blue sea in front of the park, or at the green Koolau mountain range behind the park--kind of like heaven might be! The kids got up close with a well trained Dolphin.

The day of Carl's actual birthday, we deiced to take the kids to ChuckECheese for some game action. They really enjoy that place:) After that we went home for cake. Carl just dug right in to his piece of cake. Here's a picture of him opening a gift that Chase picked out for him. It's a cute Mickey Mouse plane:).
