Birthday Bash!!

OH MY GOODNESS!!! I had a lot of mommy time the past two days. A friend of mine invited me to her birthday bash. Her husband got a suite for all her friends to party at the Hilton downtown. My awesome husband was very willing to let me go to have a good time with some girlfriends:) This was my morning view at Waikiki.On Friday night all the girlfriends ate at the Cheesecake Factory. I had a Navajo Sandwich. The Navajo bread reminded me of Mammy's. I love Navajo Tacos, so its good to know I can at least find the bread at the Cheesecake Factory. Here is a picture of my friends, Laura & Joy, and me. After dinner we went back to the suite, ate our cheesecake, talked and laughed. They stayed up until 4am talking and joking, but this pregnant mommy could only stay up til 2am. I woke up at 10am!!! That was wierd, because I don't remember the last time I slept in past 7am!

I woke up smelling bacon. I went to the kitchen and found that Joy and Corty made an awesome breakfast. I had some yummy fruit crepes. All the girls were going to do paddle boarding that morning--not a good activity for a pregnant woman. My friend Wendi is also expecting so we hit the pool to relax. Hanging out at the pool made me want to order a fancy drink! I felt like I was on vacation with all the tourists at Waikiki:) Here is Wendi and I. As you can tell, I'm huge! Wendi is 5 months along. This will be her third baby and first girl!! After our relaxing afternoon at the pool, we all went shopping.

I thought my friend was very sweet to invite us. It was her birthday but I felt like she was giving us the gift!!!

Fun three day weekend

I have said this before in other post and I'm going to say it again, "I LOVE WHEN GREG HAS 3 or 4 DAY WEEKENDS!" He had one this past weekend and will have another one this weekend for Memorial Day.
The weather in Oahu is not Summer year round. In Makakilo it rains a lot. The nice thing though is that the temperature never drops below 70. Greg and I just hope when we plan to hit the beach the sun will be out. It can be sunny and out of no where it can start to shower.

On Thursdays Greg gets off work early so we decided to spend a afternoon at the beach and wait for the clouds to clear and the sun to break through them. The sun sure did come out after taking a long drive. We were happy to be out of the car and enjoy the swim:)

After living here for 5 months, we finally went to hanauma bay. Greg got a picture of me struggling to come up the hill. I did it...that was hard:)Same thing we waited around for the morning showers at home and hoped for the sun to come out. We got lucky and the sun did come out!!! The snorkeling is amazing but there were a few too many people at this very popular tourist attraction. I did do some snorkeling but got tired fast. I am so out of shape!

Saturday we watched Shreck, the final chapter and had some lunch, did shopping and YAY Finlay got the baby's crib. Sunday was a nice relaxing day. We enjoy church and spending time in our home together. I think especially for Greg!! He doesn't get to relax at home much.
Our little baby is almost here! I love that I can count down days and not months.

Dole Plantation

The kids and I went on a little outing this afternoon to the Dole Plantation. Pineapple is grown all over the side of the central part of the island! We really like it but we have learned that Chase has a minor alergy to it. It gives him A BIG belly ache. When Chase saw this pinapple he t0ld me, "Look at this little cute one!" I thought it was sweet.This was Savvy playing with her friend's glasses while waiting to ride the pinapple express.The kids thought it was fun to feed these huge fish. There were lots wanting to be fed. My pinapples Chase and Savvy:)This is at the end of the train ride.

Mother's Day 2010!!

I had a great, relaxing Mother's Day Weekend!! Saturday we headed to visit Waimea Bay. The weather wasn't so great but we still enjoyed it as much as possible. Chase burying Savvy:)Chase and Greg snorkeling. There weren't fish but we did see sea turtles swimming through.Later that day Greg took the kids to do Mother's Day shopping and I went to Ross and Target. I love Ross. I found Savvy 5 little dresses for the price of one dress. I couldn't believe I found really dressy dresses for under $4.oo. Savvy has become really girly and is starting to remind us that she "is a princess." She's being so cute. Today Greg made me waffles for Breakfast and buffalo wings for Dinner. I've been telling Greg that I have been craving Buffalo wings all week:) They were great!!

It was nice to have Greg for the weekend because he keeps the kids in line.

This weekend I've been feeling a lot of braxton hicks and the baby dropping.

Greg and I have a job at church now. We are teaching the 11 year old kids. Greg also is with the 11 year old boy Scouts. This was our second Sunday and we are enjoying it. And it's fun that Greg and I get to be together for the whole church hour:) The children did paper flower leis for their moms and I was happy to get three. One from Greg, one from Chase, and one from Savvy. Greg made one for Savannah too. I want to add that my wonderful hubby gave me a beautiful watch and Chase convinced dad to get me a GPS unit. I AM SO BLESSED to have one because I hate getting lost on this island. It is really difficult to learn your way around here. That shouldn't be a problem anymore.

BIG BABY!!!

Greg and I went to the hospital today to get a second ultrasound done on baby Carl. This ultrasound had to be taken at 33 weeks because during my last one we learned that one of Carl's kidneys was about twice as big as it should have been.

I've been doing a lot of worrying over the last few weeks, especially after the Doctor described what some of the problems could be. If Carl still had a problem at birth, he would have had to be treated and I didn't want anything happening to him after birth. My doctor explained to me that Carl might also be born with certain bladder problems.

When the tech was done checking the baby, she told me, "HIS KIDNEYS ARE PERFECTLY NORMAL." I was so relieved. Greg and the kids got to come in at the end of the appointment and got to see the baby. It was amazing getting to see his little face in 3D. He looked like Chase.

Carl weighs 5 lbs already. I know he's going to be another 8 pounder. He will also have a full set of hair. The technician showed Greg and me Carl's hair and it was sticking up, floating in the amniotic fluid. We were all so excited to find out that Carl's kidneys are healthy that we celebrated by having pizza!!!

Savvy's new favorite game...

This is now Savvy's favorite thing to play:) She knows we don't drink tea. So we have a hot chocolate party!!

Dining out and Father-son activity

On Friday, Greg and I went to a "Dining-out" which is a formal Army dinner. The Army Jag traditions are interesting before having dinner. It was assigned seating, so it was a great surprise to learn that we would be sitting with Mark and his wife--I got to chat with people I actually know.

Here are some dressed up pictures:) I love getting all dressed up for my hubby. And I love seeing him all dressed up, even if he hates wearing a bow-tie:) Today, Greg had a really busy day. After spending all morning surfing, he took Chase sailing with one of his friends at Pearl Harbor. Chase loved it but said it was a little scary. Mark took his son Cameron too, and Chase really likes him. I thought it was a great father and son outing. After their adventure, the girls met up with the guys and we all had lunch together.
Greg finished the day off taking Chase out for some ice cream. It was a perfect father-son day.
