Loving Virginia

So far I have really enjoyed Virginia. It is so green. I didn't get a lot of sleep on the flight over here so it was a long night. I'll post more when I get home. Thanks mom for watching the kidos! Greg is doing great!

A good sad time....

Last weekend was a sad and happy time. Greg's Grandpa passed away on July 27th. The kids and I had the opportunity go up to Utah and visit Greg's family. We had a good time with them. Savy, Christian, and Chloe while looking at the cow: Our trip up there was to be with grandma and to be part of Grandpa's funeral. This was Savy's first time meeting Grandma Peterson. They had a good time together:Greg had permission to go to the funeral. Right when he was ready to get his boarding ticket the flight attendant said his fight was canceled. It was very disappointing Greg couldn't be part of grandpa's funeral. The kids loved feeding apples to a cow that was in the Peterson Grandparent's land. Chase and I found this cool bird nest:The kids spent a lot of time with the cow:Chase really enjoyed picking apples too:The funeral was perfect. I felt the spirit there and I felt good to know Grandpa is in a better place with our Heavenly Father. And he's with his loved ones.
Before we left Filmore dad, mom, Andy, and Nikki went to the cemetery. We love you grandpa!

A weekend with my parents plus a miracle!

The kids and I had a fun weekend with my parents on the 24th to the 26th of July. Savy wanted to be like the boys and dress up as a Power Ranger. I thought it was pretty funny how the costume looked on her: Friday night my parents took Chase and Xavier to a Dodgers game. I thought it was pretty special because I remember when my dad would take us to Dodgers games. My dad is a huge fan! My mom said that Chase and Xavier had a blast! They ate all of the stadiums favorite foods, watched a Firework show, and saw Elvis. On Saturday we went to Long beach:It was so much cooler out there so the walk was fun to do. I enjoyed sight seeing. I took this picture of this "Zoltar" because I thought it was cool and I think I had never seen one before.Chase was really good at this game. I was impressed:Savy on her own decided she wanted to use the toilet. With lots of accidents, time, and patience, she is officially potty trained (most of the time). I am super excited. She did this on her own. I know Heavenly Father is watching out for me. He knows how much I struggled with Chase. No more diapers. It's a miracle.... She's proud of herself.

Chase thinks of his dad always...

Last night Greg let me know the kids and I can go to Virgina and stay out there with him. When I put Chase down to sleep I said to him "Chase would you want to go to Virgina and visit dad". He said "yes, so I can feel like I am at home and I want to see what the Army is like". My heart just melted when he said that, and it made me want to go out there sooner than September. Another story I wanted to share is a cute one. Chase told his cousin Alyssa "my dad is in the Army," she responded "my dad is in the Marines". They said it so proudly. I thought wow they are so proud of their dads.

Week 1

Greg has been away in training for a week now. Chase misses him so much. He's having a rough time. I miss Greg a lot too. The good thing about this, and it's a blessing, is that we have been able to see Greg on a web cam. Chase loves that. Savy would say "daddy airplane" for 5 days straight now she says "daddy computer". Greg is doing really well. He is really busy his days start at 4am and end around 9pm. Virgina is 3 hours ahead from Cali so we get to talk to him at 6pm here but there it's his time to sleep. These two pictures have been my favorite. Here is my Rambo hubby: What have we been up to? Well I have started running early mornings before the kids wake up. I walk 2 miles and run 1 mile at the track. I would like to do more but my asthma is slowing me down. Chase, Savy, and I have been visiting with cousins, aunts, uncles and my mom. We've been swimming a lot. I will post those pictures later.

On Thursday I had a fun girls' night out with Darci and Nikki. We first ate burgers @ IN-N-OUT. Then we watched The Proposal. It was a romance/comedy. So we had lots of laughs but not for children to watch.

4th of July...

Happy 4th of July! This picture is for Greg. He made it safely to Virgina. While Greg was on a airplane, the kids and I spent the afternoon at a pool where my sister lives. Chase went on his first water slide with me and he loved it. Savy didn't:) It was the first time in a long time that my mom and sister went swimming. It was exciting to be at the pool with them. I missed Greg though, but his with me in spirit.
When I got back home from dropping Greg off at the airport, there was the flag that mom and dad put up. I felt so good. I thought of Greg and how proud I am of him for serving our country. He told Chase whenever you see a flag, think of me. It has been cute to hear a shot out from Chase saying "mom there's a flag, I'm thinking of my dad." He has seen lot's from where my mom lives.
