Zoo time, finally

Since we moved here I've been wanting to take the kids to the Waikiki Zoo. For one reason or another it would never work out. Well it was a must do when my parents were here. Yes it did happen!! We absolutely loved it! I thought it had to be good if President Obama visits this zoo during his vacations:)

After our zoo trip we walked on down to Waikiki beach a block away for lunch then went in the water for a much needed cool down:) The water felt so good. It was a really warm day especially when you've been walking all morning and afternoon. Waikiki was Kayla's favorite beach.

In the reptile room it was HOT:)Kayla was a really good helper. She would do things for me without me even having to ask! She is a great niece! She would change diapers, change clothes, carry Carl, cook, clean, and much more. Carl and Savvy's first zoo trip. Much more to come:) first stop to the elephantsLook at these huge turtles. They were our favorite animals to look at. We looked at them for a good 25min. There were lots of them & moving.... slow:)
Carl looking at the hippos. He enjoyed looking at the animals. If he couldn't see the animals he would scream at us to get him out of his stroller so he could see what we were looking at.Kayla being a great cousin!Walking down to find giraffes. Got a little scared when we looked up and found this guy over our heads:)Grandpa with the boys.

Happy day at the zoo:)

JUNE Fun

Chase's vacation out of school has started off with so much fun. We were so happy to have my Parents, Niece Kayla, and nephew Xavier with us for 3 weeks. They came on June 3 and left the 22nd. It was really hard to say goodbye. Goodbyes are really hard on me. I don't like not knowing when I will see them again. At this time I don't know when. I hope to see them next year or sooner.

During their visit here we got to celebrate my mom's birthday, Savvy and Carl's birthdays, and Father's day. I am going to try to keep the next post in order. Greg was at California for Josh's wedding. Marrying Heidi. Greg was a groomsman and was happy to be part of it. Greg, William, Groom Josh day of the wedding. Greg also got to go to Utah for a day trip to see his grandma there. For the first time he got to see his grandpa's tombstone. Here's what we did during my parents visit. The first week we went to a local luau then went to the blow hole. Took the kids to the beach, Pearl harbor and much more the following week. Here are some of the 800 pictures of the trip. Graduate!

Today was Chase's last day of kindergarten. Yesterday, May 25th, he had a Kindergarten Graduation ceremony. It was so sweet! They announced that he's class of 2023! Yikes! Scary to think about!Savvy giving Chase his candy lei. He's proud of himself and glad he's done with kindergarten. Please don't tell him how much harder 1st grade is going to be:)Chase with his best buddy.Chase with his class mates and teacher. He was excited to have a candy lei. I put his favorite gum, blow pops, and gummy bears. I think Chase's graduation was a big deal..he learned so much in 10 months of school. He learned how to be on his own, and he learned the alphabet and sounds. Next thing I know he's reading and spelling. By the end of the school year he was adding and subtracting, and every Friday there was a spelling test . Who does that in kindergarten? Or is it just in Hawaii? He also learned some of the Hawaiian language. I don't remember ever doing that in kindergarten. All I remember of kindergarten is my teacher reading books and recess.

He had long hours of school but it was all good for his development. I did miss not getting to watch him learn in class. At his school they didn't have parent heplers in class and any how I wouldn't have been able to with having Carl and Savvy with me.

Mother's Day 2011

I was sure spoiled from Greg and kids for Mother's Day! Saturday I had alone time with Carl and in my house I actually got to watch a chick flick movie. Greg took Chase and Savvy out:)

My Mothers' day breakfast was delicious and healthy. My lovely husband cooked-eggs, turkey bacon, and whole wheat toast with Nutalla. After that, the kids and Greg gave me gifts. I loved the leis and my mom had Greg get me one too, earrings, and chocolate. Greg got me Brookside Dark Chocolate Acai with blueberry. He knows that I'm trying to watch what I'm eating so what a wonderful way to give the gift of chocolate. Greg made me a coconut smoothie for lunch and beef burritos for dinner. I'm a happy mommy and wife:)
Thanks Kids and Greg for a special Mommy weekend!
