You're on my mind...

Carl has been on my mind a lot this week, and I realized I only have 8 weeks left. Chase, Savvy and I have started looking for baby stuff. Savvy has been worried about what stroller were getting for Carl. Oh, and she tells me, "Mom, we need to get diapers for the baby!" Chase is concerned about getting him a swing and a bassinet to sleep in.

Yesterday, at the NEX (Navy mall), Chase picked out his baby brother's first outfit. I am super happy the kids are all excited for Carl's arrival. I can't wait to meet this baby and carry him in my arms, but I am worried about labor. I remember labor real well so I get scared. This time around, I am going to get a epidural. I've experienced natural birth twice and it hurts a lot.

I also had a doctor appointment yesterday. While we were waiting to see my midwife, Chase asked me, "Mom how do they get the baby out." I smiled and said, "The doctor gets the baby out with their hands." Chase laughed then I said, "That's kind of funny huh..." Chase looked a little confused:)

He also asked if he could see the baby at the hospital after I have him. So I asked the doctor and she told me that the kids could even be present during labor. I was thinking in my mind, "Oh no I wouldn't have Chase with me at labor! That would traumatize the poor kid!" Well I'm excited to know the kids will get to see us after labor.

I talked with my midwife about all the back pain I've been having. She was so awesome and said to me, "Well we are going to have to go look for a pregnancy belt." I have heard of it before but never tried one. The nurse put it on me and I was sent off. I wore it until night and Oh man I just loved it. It does help so much. It feels like all my baby weight is being supported. So when I bend down my whole weight doesn't put pressure on my back or lower belly.

With my OB doctor when I was pregnant with Chase, I talked about back pain. He just told me to suck it up. He was a horrible doctor. I don't know why I continued to see him. Maybe I was young and I didn't know better. I thought all OB doctors were jerks like him. But my new doctor proved me wrong.

Crazy hair day....

Savvy's hair is getting really, really long. I need to learn how to french braid. On Saturday, while she was watching TV, she let me braid her hair. It turned out funny looking so I took a picture of her and thought, "Wow, she just sat down patiently for a long time and let me do her hair for the first time ever." After sitting still for a long time she was rewarded with candy that we still have left over from Easter. The next day it looked frizzy and curly.I just wanted to add how much we miss our freinds and family.

30 weeks...

I am in my 30th week now and I'm starting to feel like it's time to have this baby already. I am starting to feel lots of back pain, lower abdominal pain, leg pain, and I am constantly drinking water. I don't remember drinking so much water with my other 2 pregnancies. June is getting closer but I wish June were May:) I really want to enjoy the kids before Carl arrives.

This past week was fun. One morning, I took Chase and Savvy to the Secret Beach to find some sea turtles!! We did see some. They loved it. It was exciting we finally saw some. We were driving up to North shore and never found any. Now I know we can drive down to Ko olina in 15 min instead of an hour drive to North shore. At one time 3 turtles were swimming around us. They get really close in hope you would feed them seaweed. At one point, the kids and I got some off the rocks and Chase gave them some seaweed. It was a really enjoying day at the beach. I wished Greg was there with us!

Happy Birthday GREG!!!!

Happy Birthday Daddy!! Saturday was a great day for Greg's birthday because he didn't have to work and we got to celebrate all day. His morning started off with surfing. While he was surfing I was baking a birthday cake and getting breakfast ready. I made him waffles.

After breakfast, we went out for some sun. Greg and Chase did snorkeling at Tracks beach. Chase saw his first sea turtle. That was pretty cool:) Greg said that Chase saw it first and Greg thought Chase yelled "Shark" instead of "Turtle." Greg said it was kind of scary until he saw the turtle floating right in front of them just looking at them. It was funny hearing Chase talk about it when they came back in.

After the beach, we went to go watch How to train a dragon. It is really cool and a must see. It was cute!!! We went out to dinner at Chile's, and then ended the night with birthday cake!!! Chase wanted to have camoflauge b-day plates and blow horns. The kids and I blew up 29 ballons and wrote down reasons why we love daddy on each balloon! The kids were really excited to surprise Greg with them right when he woke up in the morning.

Easter 2010!!!!

Greg had 3 days off for Easter this year. It's awesome when that happens. We had a fun Easter weekend!!

Our highlights of our weekend:

Greg and I had a really fun date night. We went out to Pearl Harbor and ate in an open air restaurant right along the water. We got there just in time for sunset. It was soooo beautiful. I was craving seafood but I couldn't decide what to get, so I ordered this Pasta dish, that had every type of seafood that I like. I was so excited when they brought it out to me that I had to take a picture:)Here is a picture of the kids with their Easter outfits and baskets. These pictures were taken before we left to a Easter dinner with some friends. We had a great dinner with them. They are VERY nice. Here we go coloring Easter eggs. And egg decorating:On Saturday, the kids went on a pony ride. They both loved it. Savvy had a smile on her face the whole ride. She really wanted to do it. I was surprise with how brave she was.Chase had a serous face the whole ride:) But he was very brave too.Savvy smiling for the picture.
Happy Easter everyone!!!

Too much sun...

We are really enjoying the beaches. I think I need to try to stay away from too much sun exposure for my skin. I think it's from being pregnant but I tan quickly. I don't know if I can get any darker. The kids love playing in the sand and Chase loves to snorkel. I went on an outting with them to Ko'Olina and while I was sitting in the shade, Chase was snorkeling all by himself. I was so impressed watching him swim and float in the water that I had to take a picture. Here is Savvy doing some modeling:And Chase being cool with his floaties:Savvy knows how to relax:And Savvy and Chase both love it when their Dad burries them: Greg found a beach that we can do some fun snorkeling. We were very surprised to see tons of tropical fish there, without tons of people. It was a perfect day until all out of nowhere it started pouring rain. The crazy thing was that the rain didn't feel cold at all. The weather here changes always. We hear when April comes around it's really warm with less rain. That should be nice.

Greg has picked up a new hobby. He goes out surfing with a friend from work a couple times a week. He likes it but says it's hard. He still won't let me watch him until he gets better. I hope that will happen before we move off Island;)
I have met new friends at church. They are all nice and sweet. They have given us a very warm welcome. The kids and I went to a playgroup and had a really good time. The kids played with friends and us moms got to chat together. I am excited to be able to hang out with young moms and get together with them.
Well life is all good at the moment.

We are expecting a...

Six months down and three to go!!

It took 3 ultrasound appointments to know what this baby was going to be, not that he didn't want to show, but because of problems with paper work, insurance complications, and not having a babysitter. We finally know for sure now that....I knew it was a boy the whole time, but I had to see it to believe it. He showed himself openly. The ultrasound tech and I talked throughout the appointment a lot. When she checked for the baby's sex, she told me it's a boy, then said look at that turtle. I thought that was so cute and funny. I think this baby has a nickname already.
Greg and I decided to name him after an amazing man: Carl Reuben Peterson. We were thinking about naming him "Tru," but, because of an amazing experience, we changed our minds.

We originally only wanted two children. I felt that Chase and Savvy were the only ones for Greg and me. But, almost 8 months ago, I started praying really hard about whether to have another child.

My prayer was answered in Fillmore Utah at Greg's grandpa's funeral, Carl Reuben Peterson. At the funeral I remember feeling that there was another spirit waiting to join our family. At that moment, I knew we needed to have another baby and I felt I should name him after Grandpa. I think it's amazing that I felt an answer so strongly. It was even more amazing that I felt it would be a boy.

We are very excited. But we do worry that being named after such a great man will be tough on the little guy. He's going to have a lot to live up to!
