Labor Day

For Labor day weekend we didn't do anything too exciting. Since I was down all week, it was time to have a fun afternoon with the kids. Here's a brother and sister picture before we were off: So we went to Chuck E Cheese they had a good time playing and playing. Mammy came with us. It was great because Savy had her all to herself. The kids playing inside the tunnels: Later that night for FHE grandpa BBQ'd some yummy chicken. After that we watched a church cartoon video on David and Goliath.

The Salona family had smores with chocolate chip cookies at their ward beach party. We tried them out that night in the backyard. Chase liked them. Mom and I had some with Dove chocolates. They were veeery GOOOD!

what is wrong with me??

Last Friday morning, in a wierd situation, I broke my left toe. It happened when I walked to the kitchen to get Savy some milk. I hit my foot on a chair, and twelve hours later, mom and I learned that my toe was broken.

Monday I was feeling better and the swelling was going down so I decided to visit my sister Susy the next day. Tuesday morning came and right when I was going to leave, I sprianed my right ankle. I still went to Susy's and when I got there, my ankle was swollen as big as a baseball.

Today, I had a doctors appointment and I found out that I streached a ligament. Now it's banged up and my left broken toe is healing. Mom, Susy, and my Mom have been taking good care of me and have helped me a lot with the kids. I can't walk or stand for too long because my feet and legs still hurt and begin to swell up. I just pray I get back to normal before I go to VA in two weeks.

Monterey visit...

Mom and dad went to La Salva for mom's high school reunion this weekend. I jumped at the chance to go with them. I didn't want to miss it. Here's Savy with grandma before we left:Thinking about our move coming up this December reminds me to spend lots of time with family now. I do have promises from Greg's family that they will come out and visit us. So I hope it does come true. We will try to come back home too but we don't have any idea when. My visit to La Salva was special because Chase, Savannah, and I spent most of our time with Diane. So we got to know her a lot better. It was fun spending time with her. She's a amazing person. For two mornings, Mike made the kids and I a super breakfast. I also got to get to know him. That was special too. On Friday night, grandma Carole had a really good dinner for us. She's really a good hostess. I got to talk with aunt Diane's children, Greg's cousins, and their partners. It was just a fun night. Their grandson Woody played for hours with Chase and Savy without stopping. It was fun watching them laugh, play and jump. We walked down to the beach one day. Here's Savy in a stoller that Diane let us use when we walked up to Carole's house:Chase and Savy played a lot in Carole's backyard. Chase said that it was "a forest." Diane brought down a tent, tables, and chairs for them to play in. They loved that. Chase learned how to climb up a tree out there in the forest. He was proud of himself. He even let me take his picture doing it: Here is Chase watching a dvd inside mom's sun-shade-thing for the front window. Chase said it was his house inside there:
I love the weather in La Selva. We were in jeans, shoes, and sweaters. I loved being in a 60 to 70 dregree weather.

The kids' new pet...

Before I left to visit Greg, there was a cat in our backyard begging for food. I didn't feed it because I didn't know if it would have been okay with mom and dad having a cat around. And also I don't like cats at all. When the cat first meowed for food Chase asked mammy and grandpa what cats eat. Mom and dad said they eat gofers, mice, fish, and cat food. The next day the cat was meowing Chase said mom it's okay if we feed him our pet fish so that the cat can be our new pet. That was cute. The kids and mammy have been feeding the cat since I got back from visiting Greg. They give it cat food. Even though I don't like cats, I've been helping Chase feed it too. The kids are in love with it, and they are very excited. Chase goes out there and plays with it and the cat lets him pet it. I don't really like that, but there's no stopping Chase! Chase named him buster.

Short sweet visit...

My weekend with Greg was short and sweet, but it felt like one short date. Friday night we went for dinner. The next day we did some shopping and Greg did his own laundry--he wanted to show off that he now knows how to wash and fold his own clothes. It was cute. We also had a fun picnic at a park near his hotel. Later that day we did some walking around the university of Virginia. These pictures are dark because there from my cell phone. The school is big and beautiful. I fell in love with how green this state is.Here's a statue of Thomas Jefferson, the founder of the University of Virginia. It was cool shopping because it was a tax-free weekend . Greg got the kids some cool gifts from the Army store. Here's Chase in his new PT shirt. He got Savy a cute bear dressed in a army uniform: Chase a army t-shirt, camouflage shorts and undies. Thanks Greg for a wonderful weekend.

A good sad time....

Last weekend was a sad and happy time. Greg's Grandpa passed away on July 27th. The kids and I had the opportunity go up to Utah and visit Greg's family. We had a good time with them. Savy, Christian, and Chloe while looking at the cow: Our trip up there was to be with grandma and to be part of Grandpa's funeral. This was Savy's first time meeting Grandma Peterson. They had a good time together:Greg had permission to go to the funeral. Right when he was ready to get his boarding ticket the flight attendant said his fight was canceled. It was very disappointing Greg couldn't be part of grandpa's funeral. The kids loved feeding apples to a cow that was in the Peterson Grandparent's land. Chase and I found this cool bird nest:The kids spent a lot of time with the cow:Chase really enjoyed picking apples too:The funeral was perfect. I felt the spirit there and I felt good to know Grandpa is in a better place with our Heavenly Father. And he's with his loved ones.
Before we left Filmore dad, mom, Andy, and Nikki went to the cemetery. We love you grandpa!
