Fun day off...

Greg had a day off on Monday. We decided to go to the beach with Savvy and Carl. It was a fun morning.

I am happy not to be pregnant anymore. It was great to get down in the sand, not being uncomfortable. Playing in the water with Savvy and not feeling heavy:) Life is good!! Oh and its great to be able to lay flat on my stomach in the sand again:)

Greg and Savvy worked on this cool sand sea turtle. Here's a pic that Greg took of Carl, now with those chubby cheeks:)

A last book for Savvy

These two pictures where taken right before we where going to take mammy and grandpa to the airport. Carl with Mammy.Mammy's last story reading to Savvy. Savvy has always loved hearing storiess and reading books:)
Thanks Mammy and Grandpa for coming to visit us!!

More pictures

Here are more pictures of Mammy and Grandpa's visit, from the PCC, to Wamiea Falls.

The hike up to Waimea falls was nice. There was a paved trail up. If you go off the road to the side you get to see beautiful flowers, plants, trees, rocks and even some ancient Hawaiian ruins. The hike was about 2 miles up and 2 miles back down. People do swim in the pool underneath the falls but we didn't bring our swim suits.Greg hiked up a hill with all three kids:)One cool looking tree. Our family picture with baby Carl. Mammy took a picture of Savvy and me with the main fire dancer from the big show that they do after dinner at the PCC. He is awesome with the fire. This is Chase's favorite activity at the PCC.. fishing. He caught one the first time we went, but hasn't been as lucky since. Chase learned how to play this game well thanks to a patient worker.Waiting for the canoe ride.

Pearl Harbor

One morning, after dropping Chase off at school, we went to Ko'olina. Mammy played with Savvy in the sand, and Savvy loved it!! I got a lot of cute pictures of Carl in his swimsuit. Here is one of those. When I got out of the water, Carl was hanging out with grandpa:) Thanks Grandpa for babysitting and letting me do some swimming! Both Mammy and Grandpa let me go out in the water quite a bit...yes!! After Chase got out of school, we headed over to Pearl Harbor. Here's a group shot.. mammy took this picture. The kids liked riding the boat over to the monument dedicated to the Soldiers that were trapped alive in a battleship during the pearl harbor attack. It was our first time there and I learned that the memorial was literally directly over a battleship named the Arizona, that was bombed.

This is a portion of the ship that is not underwater. It has attracted sea turtles which were swimming near it. While I was standing inside, I could actually feel what had taken place. It was sad to read all the names of all the soldiers that died.
Chase really got it all too. He really understood what had taken place. He was very sad to learn that so many fathers and brothers and sisters and sons and daughters had died.

Fun week with Mammy and Grandpa Peterson

Durning mammy and grandpa's visit we did a lot. On labor day, we headed to the beach in Waianae. That day, Carl was dipped into the water for the very first time. He wasn't sure at first, but then enjoyed the water. He fell to sleep at one point while Mammy had him in the water:)

Here's Mammy with Carl's first dip in the ocean! The weather was perfect the whole 10 days that Mammy and Grandpa were here. Greg got a week off of work. He really enjoyed the break:) We would miss Chase while he was in school, but we still managed to have fun without him. Greg, dad, and mammy went up to north shore to explore and do some snorking at Sharks Cove. When Chase was out of school, Mammy and Grandpa took them to a jump house. Chase and Savvy loved it!! They have been asking to go there:) When we came back home from jumping Mammy made popcorn balls that Chase loves making and eating!Chase hasn't had a popcorn ball since we left CA so he was in heaven, and all week he took a popcorn ball with him for lunch.

To be continued....
